Photography
I have always been very passionate about photography, ever since I got my first camera as a kid (it was a bright red Kodak Easyshare). I find the art of capturing moments as challenging as it is exciting. I have been able to use my skills at a number of roles. Since beginning at the Minnesota Daily as a staff photographer, I've been able to use my photography skills in a number of roles. Like taking photos and videos for the ice skaters at Busch Gardens, taking new staff headshots for my current office, and using my skills to showcase objects for sale from the Pacific Science Center.
Minnesota Daily
I started working for the Minnesota Daily as a staff photog in April of 2021. I had just started around the time that Daunte Wright was killed by a police officer in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. This meant a lot of protest coverage and walking the thin line between getting the emotional shots while acknowledging my place as a white photographer capturing moments of devastation in the black community. From there I also covered the news of the Derek Chauvin trial at George Floyd Square. Here are some pictures from both of those events.
